In this article the results are described of a comparative study between: (1) encopretic children; (2) children with other psychosomatic problems; (3) potential haemodialysis children. First there is an inventory of the phenomena which are directly related with encopresis. Secondly the object of our study was the degree of similarity or difference between the two groups in certain behavioural aspects. Our point of view is that encopretic children are psychosocially more at risk than the children of the comparison groups. This assumption is confirmed by this study.
