The quality of flocked surfaces is decisively dependent upon the flock density achieved. In the case of most flocked surfaces a representative optical effect and feel are required, which demand a maximum and constant flock density. The flocking process, which is decisive for the flock density, is dependent upon the characteristics of the flock fibres, the adjustments of the flocking plant and the climate. The adjustment of the flocking plant is very tricky, as a high flock density and a high performance of the plant are contrary to one another. It is therefore important to adjust the plant so that it is able, at a maximum performance, to especially achieve a maximum flock density and a homogenous flocking.
