The residual effect of phosphate top-dressing to pasture on a high phosphate-retaining soil was measured by comparison with the effectiveness of newly applied phosphate. Pasture yield was measured by mowing and the clippings were dried and returned to the plots as a powder. The effects of phosphate top-dressing on the levels of P, N, Ca, Mg; and K in the pasture and on the Truog soluble P in the soil were determined.
