Development of streptomycinamp;#x2013;resistant variants ofpseudomonas syringae vanhall in culture and in peach seedlings

Streptomycinamp;#x2013;resistant variants ofPseudomonas syringaeemerged following serial transfer of a sensitive strain through graded concentrations of streptomycin in broth. Initially, a concentration of 0.1 to 0.5ug./ml. streptomycin inhibited growth. After 6 transfers growth occurred at all concentrations from 0 to 679ug./ml.
