Western Sierra expands barytes exploration

Western Sierra Mining Corp., a Utah-based mining and exploration company, will be expanding its geological exploration targets for barytes at the Mud Springs project near Battle Mountain in Nevada, USA. The Mud Springs property, consisting of some 3,000 acres of unpatented land previously mined for barytes and gold, has been under continued exploration since Western acquired the right to mine barytes and gold there under a Limited Mining Agreement. As part of this exploration, Western is investigating partially opened barytes bed structures near the surface. Although no estimates can be made as to the quantity or grade of any reserves, in-house lab tests have shown good values for barytes ore existing along a trend parallel to the Battle Mountain and Carlin Trend mineralised zones.
