New state of the art refractory plant

A new basic refractory brick manufacturing plant is to be set up in Pakistan by Syndicate Mines & Minerals (Pvt) Ltd (SMM) and the Pakistan Industrial Development Corp. (PIDC). The two companies have set up a joint venture company, Magnesite Refractories Ltd, to manage the project. Total investment is expected to be about Rs. 851m., of which SMM and PIDC will invest 26 percent each, the remainder of the equity being offered to the general public. The plant, which is to be located at Halter Industrial Estate in North West Frontier Province, will have capacity to produce 30,000 tpa of calcined magnesite and up to 25,000 tpa of refractory bricks. refractory brick output will be a mixture of magnesite and chrome/magnesite products.
