Glebe fluorspar application supported

THE UK'S ONLY fluorspar mining company, Glebe Mines Ltd, has received support for a planning application to extract 660,000 tonnes of fluorspar over six years in Derbyshire, UK, from Darley Dale Town Council. The proposal was submitted in January 2008 and still needs to be ratified by the Peak District National Park Authority. A decision is expected in August 2008.
