GERMAN BENTONITE PRODUCER, Sud-Chemie AG, and Italian foundry and construction business, IMIC SpA, have established a new joint venture (j-v), Sud-Chemie IMIC Italia Sri. IMIC will transfer its entire foundry and construction operation to the new company, while Sud-Chemie will retain a 75 percent controlling share. IMIC, a subsidiary of SATEF Huttenes Albertus SA of Vicenza, Italy, has processing plants in Milan and Pavia, north Italy, with a combined production capacity of 100,000 tpa. It will hold the retaining 25 percent share of the j-v, details of the purchase price were not been disclosed.
