Requirements for a tidal power demonstration scheme

If in the future it is decided to progress the British tidal power programme, the next logical step will be to build a demonstration scheme. Criteria for selecting a suitable demonstration scheme site are set out and a number of candidatesidentified, making use of a survey of small estuaries carried out by Binnie and Partners in 1986. These candidates are compared in the light of the information they are likely to produce and of the probable investment required.
