The key to advancing research and encouraging innovation is collaboration, but collaboration across pharmaceutical and chemical companies requires a paradigm shift in how research is currently done. Management needs to ensure that scientists' findingsare not isolated and lost to the rest of the organization. Making research data readily accessible to others enables researchers to make better use of existing data and more informed decisions, ultimately leading to more discoveries.
