SPOT PRICES ON the open market for the fertiliser mineral, potash, in India has reportedly reached 1,000 dollars/tonne, as the world struggles to get to grips with the growing food production crisis. In an interview with IM, India's largest potash company, New Delhi based Indian Potash Ltd (IPL) explained how contract prices are between 600-700 dollars/ tonne, but the producers selling at spot prices are making the most of the inflated demand.
