Fondat Srl, a subsidiary of Italian minerals group Minerali Industriall Srl, has announced that it has acquired a kaolin processing plant and mine at Santa Severa, near Rome. The operation, which was bought from Italmineraria Sri for an undisclosed sum, has an output of 15,000 tpa, although plans are currently underway to expand the plant capacity with the addition of equipment capable of processing 40 tph. This expansion is expected to be completed within a year.
