A decent MM MR2 can still be had cheaply, but it's rapidly becoming a classic. Ask someone to name a rewarding, usable and accessible two-door Japanese sports car and odds are that they'll say Mazda MX-5. But there's another option, and it's one that often gets overlooked: the Toyota MR2. The MR2 has been through three different iterations, but the wedgy Mk1 that started it all is today the most highly prized by collectors. These things are relative, though, because the MR2 sneaks below the radar of many buyers, so demand has been pinned to the floor for several years, as have prices. That won't always be the case, though, making the Mk1 MR2 a savvy used buy right now. And thanks to fuel-injected reliability and a fantastic chassis, you won't regret it.
