In the data service of the 3rd generation mobile phone system, TCP throughput is affected by dynamic bandwidth assignment based on the number of users in a cell and data traffic of a user etc. But there is a situation that, even if a user can get enough bandwidth for a data communication, he can't get a good TCP throughput. It seems that this is caused by a delay or an error in the radio link of 3G mobile. The authors have made the computer simulation software of cdma 2000 1× system, which is one of 3G mobile systems, for investing a behavior of user traffic. In this paper, we describe the analysis and the evaluation of TCP performance on cdma 2000 1× radio link protocol, based on the simulations performed by combinations of various system parameters of cdma 2000 1× system and TCP parameters.
