7322 It was a gamble but upgrading the alloy wheels may just have paid off. The wheels have come off my Mini. Not in a bad way, of course, as it's still yet to miss a beat, but its 16in factory-fit alloys have been replaced with a set of 17in wheels from the accessories catalogue. This was a decision made purely in the name of aesthetics. I didn't dislike the silver Victory Spoke alloys fitted as standard, but I really wanted black wheels to fit in with the rest of the grey and black colour scheme of the car. And I liked the Cosmos design the most, which meant going up to 17in in size. Now, retro-fitting larger alloy wheels with lower-profile tyres is something I'd normally think twice about, given their capacity for ruining ride quality - and especially so with a car like the Mini, which has previous in that department.
