Ruberoid says felt roof system is 'the safest yet'

Leading roofing supplier Ruberoid has developed a new system for fixing felt roofs that is claimed to be safer than the hot bitumen methods now used. Due to be launched in March, the Coolbond flat-roofing system comprises a pre-felted polyurethane insulation board covered with a plastic membrane. This is then covered with a self-adhesive top sheet. The top sheet's sticky side is revealed by peeling away a "tear-off" sheet. This allows it to be fixed to the plastic membrane without using a flame or boiling bitumen.
