Final report Alpina's stonking twin-turbo coupe certainly offers something a bit different from a regular 335i - but it's not the firm's best 3-series model. Strange cars, Alpinas. It would be easy to dismiss them as more exclusive, customisable BMWs that exist through a curious yet productive working relationship between one of the world's largest car manufacturers and a former typewriter company ram Bavaria. But to get them - to really get them - you have to look closely at BMW's own range, then work out how and why Alpina has created the car you're driving.
