摘要

Without irrigation populations ofLupinus angustijolius(WAU11B) at densities from 27 to 156 plants/m2produced similar seed yields with an average of 552 g/m2. With trickle irrigation during flowering a density of 156 plants/m2had a similar yield to non-irrigated densities, but at 27 plants/m2yield increased to 733 g/m2. Pod production on mainstems was similar for irrigated and non-irrigated plants, but irrigated plants produced more branches and had a greater total pod number. Irrigation was most beneficial at low plant density. Pod number plant decreased as plant density increased. Pods from plants grown at increased densities and pods from upper branch inflorescences contained fewer seeds. Irrigation decreased the number of mainstem and average seeds per pod but branch pods increased. Mean seed weight was greater for non-irrigated plants than for irrigated plants (186v.150 mg). There were decreases in seed weight in upper branch inflorescences and in plants grown at higher densities. The number of pods formed on second order apical branches showed the highest correlation with seed yield. Largest increases occurred at low plant density with irrigation.
