摘要

The effect of IAA on the excretory pattern of silkworm (Bombyx mori) larvae was investigated. Fresh mulberry leaves were dipped at least for one hour in IAA solution (15 micro g/l), then shade dried and fed to the silkworm larvae on the first day of the third and fourth instars, and daily during the fifth instar up to 7 days. The IAA treatment resulted in an increase in the levels of ammonia, glutamine, uric acid and urea in the excreta of the silkworm larvae. IAA activated the oxidative metabolism of the treated larvae, leading to enhanced excretion of nitrogenous end products.
