This paper critically examines the key questions concerning the performance of an Injection-Synchronized Oscillator (ISO) in the presence of a Rician fading signal deeply embedded in additive white Gaussian noise. Both theoretically and experimentally, the probability density distribution function (pdf) of the amplitude and phase process at the output of the ISO have been estimated, and it is seen that the system has no less efficiency than that of a conventional phase-locked loop, the commonly-used receiver system.
