Autoantigen for hepatocytotoxicity in autoimmune hepatitis: tissue-specific T-cell derived from the patient

Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a tissue-specific inflammatorydisease. Although evidences of abnormal autoantibodies toliver-specific protein (LSP), unpurified protein mixture, in patientswith AIH have been observed, the pathogenic relevance of thisphenomenon is still unknown. To investigate the immunopathogenesis ofthis disease, we established LSP-specific T-cell clone from thispatient, studied the functions focusing on the hepatocytotoxicity andtried to determine a target protein the T-cells recognized.
