Committee Approves Guaranteed Loan Program for Indian Tribes

The House Financial Services Committee has approved legislation (H.R. 3002) establishing a guaranteed community development loan program for Indian country. Under the program, Indian tribes and tribally designated housing entities could issue HUD-guaranteed obligations to finance activities on Indian reservations and other Indian areas that are eligible for financing under the Section 108 guaranteed CD loan program.
