摘要

Fully dense B_4C/CNF composites have been fabricated from the mixture of amorphous boron and carbon, and carbon nano fibers (CNF) using pulsed electric-current pressure sintering (PECPS: 1900℃/10min/30MPa/vacuum). These composites have revealed extraordinary high bending strength σ_b>600 MPa at 1400°-1600℃ in N_2, 830 MPa at 1500℃ (12.5 vol CNF) and 800 MPa at 1600℃ (10.0 vol CNF). In addition, they showed much improved fracture toughness by a factor of -20 at 1500℃, in comparison with monolithic B_4C.
