Heat Tracing plays a vita! rote in many process industry applications e.g. petroleum, plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation and food processing etc, Reliable pipeline heat tracing is vital to keep fluids that congeal at ambient temperature flowing in pipelines e.g. heavy fuel oils, molten sulfur, molten urea, ammonium carbamate etc. Steam was the main source of tracing heat till recently; now it faces serious competition from electric tracing elements.
