A modified morphological comer detector

摘要

In this paper we propose a modified morphological corner detectionmethod which finds convex and concave significant points using simpleinteger computation. We use the morphological peak extractor todetect convex corners and use a modified valley extractor to detectconcave corners. Moreover, information of the distances betweenpixels on the boundary segment determined by two contiguoussignificant points and the chord connecting these two contiguoussignificant points can be applied to remedy the loosing corner due tothe shape of the chosen structuring element.
