Thirty sugarcane genetic stocks were studied for their sodium uptake by above-ground parts at 10 and 12 month. Clones differed significantly in the sodium uptake by dry leaves, green tops, stem and total above ground parts and sodium per tonne of cane. Significant differences between stages were observed in the uptake of sodium by dry leaves, total above-ground parts and kg. sodium by dry leaves, green tops, total above-ground parts and kg sodium per tonne of cane. The range of sodium uptake by totalabove ground parts was 24.9 kg in Co 7712 and Co J 64 at 10 months to 121.3 kg in Co 7201 at 12 months. Clones Co H 50-7209 recorded above 70 kg/ha sodium uptake. The variation in sodium uptake per tonne of cane was 0.38 in Co 678 at 10 months to 0.67 kg in Co 617 at 12 months. Clones Co 678, Co A 7601, Co 7717, Co 6404, Co 7704, Co 44101, Co 62175, Co 419, Co 62174 had recorded lesser quantity of sodium uptake to produce a tonne of cane. Cane and sugar yield significant positive correlation with uptake of sodium by dry leaves, green tops, stem, and above ground parts and negative association with sodium uptake.
