From the early days of mainframes, through DOS and Windows, SCADA has come a long way. It's been an interesting journey with lots of twists and turns. The biggest news in the coming years will be: the ability to reduce costs by increasing the synergy between software applications; the increased plant floor visibility for executive management; and the capability to better visualise operations.
