Containers made from polyethylene cardboard: development and future trends.

摘要

Although 50 years have passed since the introduction of plastic bottles, cardboard cartons are still used as packaging for two thirds of milk sold in Italy. An illustrated account is given of various types of packaging available, including Tetra Brik, Pure-Pak, Combibloc and Tetra Rex, and descriptions are given of different closure mechanisms, including Twist-pak, Slide Clip, PullTab, flip-caps, Slim Cap, Elocap U and Pure Cap U. It is concluded that the most important features of milk and juice containers are convenience, a light weight and versatility.
