A 17-month old male neutered Beagle, bred in Ireland, was referred for further investigation of predominantly right forelimb lameness, subjective limb rigidity and stiffness of both fore- and hindlimbs, Previous haematological and serum biochemical results were available for review, and were unremarkable. Limited treatment-response was noted prior to referral, despite attempted medical (hydrotherapy and systemic antiinflammatory therapy) and surgical treatment.Gait abnormalities had first been noted by the dog's owner at as young as four months of age, with mild left forelimb lameness, overall rigidity of both hindlimbs, and reduced ability to flex the carpi, elbows and tarsi. Bilateral cryptorchidism, a small umbilical hernia, and a grade ll/VI heart murmur were also previously identified.
