My mate Harry had work commitments so this time I returned to Clermont on my own, arriving around lunch time. After unpacking my gear and grabbing a quick bite to eat, I headed to a creek that had produced gold on our last trip. It didn't take long to pick up my first signal in the creek's bank and after a quick scrape, I had my first gold, albeit a sub-grammer. What surprised me was the fact that we'd missed it the first time around. Adds weight to the old adage that no-one gets it all.
