Two former Belgian Air Force Westland Sea Kings departed Koksijde airbase for a delivery flight to Chard, Somerset-based Historic Helicopters on October 20. After being withdrawn from military service, both machines - RS-02 (WA832) and RS-04 (WA834) - were put up for sale. Following delays caused by COVID-19, both were placed on to the Belgian civil register in July of this year, RS-02 as OO-SEE and '04 as OO-KNG, in order for them to undergo test and ferry flights. A team comprising both Belgian and British technicians began work on October 5, resulting in an engine run for '02 on October 13 and a test flight the following day. The other Sea King returned to the air on October 18. Two days later, both helicopters departed Koksijde for their new home in the UK, where they are expected to join the British civil register in due course.
