摘要

Background: Endodontically diseased teeth are a common finding in clinical practice, with treatment depending on the duration of the injury, the stage of development of the tooth, and the type of tooth. Endodontic therapy eliminates oral pain and retains tooth functionality, and has decreased surgical complications compared to extraction. It is important that practitioners are aware of this therapy and can advise clients on why their pet's teeth should be treated and the treatment options available. Aim of the article: This article reviews the endodontic anatomy of a tooth, and discusses different types of endodontic procedures, as well as their indications in companion animal practice. This will enable a deeper understanding of this specific dental pathology and help you to communicate the significance of treating these conditions to the client.
