摘要

microplastics end up in wastewaters continuously as clothes made from synthetic fibres are washed, for example. Given that they are not discernible to the naked eye, extremely small nano-scale particles are difficult to detect. Due to their small size, they also slip through the filters of water treatment plants and into waterways. This is a problem to which nanocellulose could offer a solution.
