摘要

The effect of amorphous silica (AM-silica) surface deposits on the corrosion behaviour of two nickel-based alloys associated with superheated hydrothermal fluid containing sour gases (HCl, H2S and CO2) was investigated experimentally at 350 degrees C at 10 barG. The results demonstrate that the AM-silica scales do not promote localized corrosion damage whereas some corrosion products were detected in non-scale samples due to fluid boiling from sub-to superheated conditions. This study contributes to more understanding of the effect of amorphous silica scaling and boiling on corrosion behaviour and the selection of materials for future application in superheated geothermal systems.
