The US oil and natural gas rig count jumped by seven to 888 on the week, energy analytics and software company Enverus said Oct. 13, on a week when no basins lost rigs but the three large unconventional natural gas basins remained static. And, by again pushing higher into the 880s, the total oil and gas rig count for the week ended Oct. 12 tested a new level. The domestic rig count is now the highest it’s been since mid-November 2019. Oil rigs rose by eight to 683, while rigs chasing natural gas fell by one, leaving 205.
