Ask any person employed in an automotive workshop to point out the most dangerous piece of equipment and nine times out of ten they will point to the vehicle hoist. Their answer is not necessarily based on the number of actual incidents, but purely on the perception that, if the hoist comes down with someone underneath it, the outcomes can't possibly be good.
