Husum 'A logistic revolution in a tight space'

Metsa Board's Husum mill in Sweden recently completely its internal logistics by installing an automated roll handling system in existing buildings around its board machine. Finnish logistics company Pesmel was called in to carry out the bespoke project. Metsa Board's Husum mill is fully integrated. The mill operates two board machines - one relatively new machine started up in 2016 producing 400,000 mtpy of folding boxboard - and the other producing 250,000 mtpy of white kraft-liner. One recent addition to the mill has been an 100,000 mtpy extrusion line which has been added to serve the global food and food service packaging market.
