WE HAD HEARD THERE were problems with the economy, something about bank failures, stock-market plunges, a recession. Would that mean that SEMA, the automotive-aftermarket equivalent of Christmas, would not come this year? While there was a noticeable drop in total attendance and blank spots on the usually crowded-wall-to-wall show floor, the scene was pretty happenin' in Las Vegas. There were about 1,900 exhibitors, down by 1,000 from 2007 but more than those who showed in 2006. So, the world is not coming to an end.
