Conclusions 1.The agriculture sector displayed strong resilience amidst the pandemic uncertainty.Fertilizer related activities were recognised as eBential services,which ensured continuous production and distribution of fertilizers during lockdown and other restrictions.Fertilizers stand to play a major role in shaping the Indian farms of the future and driving prosperity of the agriculture sector.2.Economical production of domestic urea as compared to cost of imported urea helped in saving subsidy of the order of Rs.1,50,000 crore over the past 15 years.Despite this contribution,the urea industry is operating with negative returns even after considering the provisions of Modified NFS-III Policy.
