MAYBE NOT-TOYOTA BELIEVES ITS MIRAI WILL LEAD TO PROFITABILITY BEFORE ELECTRIC CARS GOVERNMENTS ARE NOT going to let up on ever-more-stringent emissions requirements, and EVs are almost never going to be profitable, automakers figure. That leaves fuel-cell vehicles; while still wildly expensive, they can at least be imagined as profitable somewhere down the line.
