FORMULA ONE'S SEASON-opening Australian Grand Prix on March 16 was a big test for the series and its new hybrid technology, and for the most part the early verdict appears positive. The biggest downside was the disqualification of local hero Daniel Ricciardo (see sidebar), an outcome that left a bitter taste in not only his mouth, but those of his team, fans and neutral parties who were happy to ' see a fresh face on the podium.
