MACAN MOJO: Porsche prepares to deliver a Turbo model with mega power

LOOK FOR PORSCHE TO GIVE the range-topping version of the upcoming Macan a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine making more than 370 hp, thus setting a fresh performance plateau in the burgeoning small-crossover segment. Earmarked for the illustrious Turbo model designation - a name that has proved to be a huge success on the larger Cayenne - the Macan (pronounced "mahkhan") will be the first recipient of a secret direct-injection gasoline engine planned for service in a range of Porsches. The forced-induction engine was developed in-house at the company's R&D center on the outskirts of Stuttgart, Germany, where it has been intensively road-tested under the hoods of inconspicuous Audi Q5 and Cayenne prototype mules for months.
