THE FORD TAURUS IS not an understated car. It has tall sides punctuated with blinged-out vents, big wheels and a bold grille. Remember the Interceptor concept from five years ago? This is about as close to a road-going execution as there is today. It's the Blue Oval's modern dreadnought for 2013. So what happens when displacement and cylinders disappear in the name of efficiency? Specifically, Ford is dropping a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine under the hood to augment the Taurus lineup. The answer: nothing. It gets better fuel economy, more torque and most critically - it doesn't feel underpowered.
