The aim of the paper is to find an integral criterion for a positive increasing function S (r) to have finite ?-order. The existence of ?-proximate order of a meromorphic function is also discussed. Finally the ?-exponent of convergence of zeros of a meromorphic function is defined and its relation with the ?-order is established.
