摘要

Root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) is an important constraint in growing pea (Pisum sativum) crop succesfully in tropical and sub tropical regions. Reniform nematodes (Rotylenchulus reniformis) a polyphagous species is also found cohabiting in the major vegetable crops (Rao and Prasad, 1971; Mishra and Gaur, 1981). The average reduction in yield due to Meloidogyne javanica in pea crop was estimated to be 20-28 percent (Sharma et al., 2002). It is well established that neem products are nematoxic and soil application is the most common method to reduce nematode attack (Mojumder, 1997) but large quantities are required for nematode management. To reduce the quantity, an alternate method like seed treatment was used in case of seed sown crops(Mojumder and Mishra, 1997; Mojumder, 2000). The present investigation aimed at finding the efficacy of some neem products applied as seed coat for the management of root-knot and reniform nematodes in pea.
