Optimization of dyeing wool with ficus elastica leaves using natural mordants

摘要

The paper describes the study carried out on dyeing of wool yarn with rubber plant (ficus elastica) leaves extract using natural mordants of plant origin. The mordants included five kinds of barks viz. Babool, Mango, Eucalyptus, Indian Blackberry and Arjun; two kinds of fruits viz. Indian gooseberry and Myrobalan; and Pomegranate fruit rind. The dyeing and mordanting variables were optimized.
