To cope with market demands, product packaging design should better conform to the characteristics of creativity, uniqueness, and comprehensiveness to cater to the trend of the times. Combining such an idea with creation design might be able to enhance the added value of product packaging design to satisfy consumers' preference and needs. Aiming at consumers and supervisors in Fujian Province, as the research objects, 600 copies of questionnaire are distributed, and 536 copies are valid, with a retrieval rate of 89%. The research results show that: (1) top five indicators, among 16, are ordered environmentally friendly materials, without excessive packaging, trend of the times, beneficial to preservation, and recycle; (2) people oriented ideas are emphasised and universal design and environmental awareness are rising that government agencies, businesses, and designers should have such awareness to design product packaging matching the idea of universal green packaging design, and (3) graphic visual design in packaging design is the source for users acquiring product information, which could be realised by consumers through the pictures and texts in the product packaging design. According to the results to propose conclusions, it is expected to have universal design and sustainable development becomes the design policy for future life and expect to move towards green country with the idea of universal design.
