By analysing the 2003-04 profit probe data for the NSW Executive Link farmers we have been able to determine the real drivers of profit for the group. In other words, benchmarking information tells you precisely what changes to management will give you the greatest leverage on profit. When comparing the economic performance (the three secrets of profit) between businesses, regions or groups, we use ratios rather than total dollars (total dollars are influenced by property size).
