Drill handles stubbles during seeding

THE PERFORMANCE of a seeder, which its manufacturer claims can accurately plant at speeds of up to 25 kilometres an hour, has produced pleasing results on a Nyngan NSW farm. Breil and Bernadette Jackson bought a Wyalong Rene Speed Drill to sow 1200 hectares of control traffic, paired-row winter crops on their property, Bogan River Downs. The seeder, designed by the West Wyalong company, Tobin Pertovt, (based on a concept by Condobolin, NSW, farmer, Chris Jones) is characterised by a banding disc, followed by the main planting discs and a large flat press wheel.
