What began as a Most Efficient Yield group of neighbouring southern Queensland farmers 15 years ago has evolved into a group keenly focused on the environment, managing salinity and other environmental factors while trying to maximise crop yields. Named the Grumpy Growers Group for reasons they believe become evident when markets are poor, the farmers are leading the way in developing markets for prime hard wheat and being friendly to the environment.
